For over sixteen years, Thomas Services has assembled teams of educated, well-trained professionals to work with large gaming enterprises and state governmental entities.
Maurice Thomas started Thomas Services in 1993 and in doing so he fulfilled his dream of being an entrepreneur. Since then, Maurice has managed to acquire lottery vending machine contracts with the Georgia Lottery Corporation, the District of Columbia and through the formation of another business, Tennessee Vending Services, he also worked with the Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation.
Over the years, Thomas Services has benefitted greatly from partnering with larger gaming companies and working as a subcontractor to various state lotteries. In that same vein, the Company is very open to forging similar alliances with local small businesses in the communities it serves.
In 1993, Maurice Thomas formed Thomas Services, Inc., a Georgia corporation, and seized an opportunity to enter the state lottery business. He became part of a strategic business alliance that included a former investment banking client and a large, publicly traded corporation in the gaming industry.
Through its team of well-trained field service technicians, the Company provides the following technical services in connection with lottery ticket machinery:
The Company’s team of Field Service Technicians is a group of experienced and knowledgeable professionals, all of whom are graduates of institutions such as DeVry University and ITT Technical Institute. They are well trained in the areas of computer electronics, engineering technology and other technical disciplines critical to serving the company’s clients. Our service team has fulfilled literally tens of thousands of service requests (service repairs, preventative maintenance and retailer training sessions) over the years.
Thomas Services has developed a keen appreciation for its customers and the importance of working as part of a team to meet the needs of the customer. In the state lottery business, the Customer Service Chain is as follows:
For each participant in this process, the Customer Service Team starts with the participant at the next level below. Consequently, at each step down the ladder, the remaining participants must work together in a cooperative and productive manner to ensure that the customer service objectives are achieved. Because TSI's role exists at the base level of the customer service chain, the company looks "up the chain" and simply sees a series of important customers. Consequently, the company considers itself to be where it all begins; a responsibility that is taken very seriously.
By virtue of its ownership and management structure, Thomas Services is a minority business enterprise ("MBE"). The National Minority Supplier Development Council has officially certified the Company as an MBE.
